Job Summary

Sandoz is currently recruiting for a Head of Strategy & Portfolio Management

Job purpose

Develop longer term (3-5 year) strategic plan for the UK business and well as managing strategic projects. Lead the portfolio and BD&L team to identify, evaluate and build strategic and operational plans for new product opportunities for the Sandoz UK portfolio

Strategic Planning :

  • Develop 3 5 year strategic plan for Sandoz UK, adapting global strategy to UK market
  • Lead strategic projects
  • Develop and maintain deep understanding of UK market and provide regular commercial intelligence updates to Senior Leadership
  • Coordinate and prepare business reviews
  • Portfolio Management :

  • Identify and evaluate product opportunities; develop business plans; evaluate risks and make recommendations
  • Lead the commercial launch management process of new products, in conjunction with broader launch and sales teams
  • Conduct regular portfolio review with senior leadership to ensure clarity on long term impact of portfolio opportunities
  • Manage portfolio project executive BD&L
  • Identify local opportunities for BD&L to fill any pipeline gaps
  • Work with potential partners to ensure mutual interest / potential
  • Collaborate with global functions to ensure deals are closed effectively
  • Manage BD&L manager

    Minimum requirements

    The ideal candidate will have

  • Graduate degree highly desirable
  • Post Graduate or Business qualification desirable English
  • Consulting experience / previous experience working with senior teams
  • Demonstrable experience in strategic portfolio leadership in UK or equivalent market (experience in Pharmaceutical or healthcare sector highly desirable)
  • Demonstrable experience with managing individuals and teams
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills
  • Leadership skills, including collaboration and ability to influence without authority
  • Strong organisational and communication skills (written and verbal) required
  • Proven teamwork ability, routinely facilitating the exchange of ideas
  • Ability to bring ideas to action as evidenced through demonstrable project management experience.
