The Director will develop, implement and conduct a meaningful life enrichment program based on resident's interests, needs and abilities to enhance resident wellness and quality of life.

Develop a monthly calendar that displays this program to the residents, staff, families, visitors and volunteers. Interact with the greater community recruiting volunteers and facilitating community involvement.

  • Develop an activities program that meets the resident's interests, needs and abilities.
  • Prepare and post a customized monthly calendar of activities that meets the current Residents interests, needs and abilities.
  • Encourage resident involvement in planning monthly calendar.

  • Coordinate with the Administrator for the distribution of the calendar to residents, families, volunteers, leads and appropriate referral sources.
  • Encourage and expect staff assistance / participation with daily group activities.
  • Establish and maintain a volunteer program through recruiting, interviewing, training, supporting and evaluating volunteers.
  • Match the skills and interests of the volunteer with the right resident(s) and / or project(s).

  • Assist in developing additional resources for special interests of residents taking full advantage of the skills and abilities of volunteers.
  • Provide materials for independent activities.
  • Complete initial assessments for all new residents to determine their unique interests and incorporate into subsequent calendars.
  • Encourage family involvement in activity programs and / or other events.
  • Ability / willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately; proficient in Microsoft Word and familiar with Excel and Publisher.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening and / or weekend hours, to meet requirements of the job.
  • Displays strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Displays a positive, cheerful and lively demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.
  • Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a social or recreational program in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, and access to a private vehicle for business use may be required.
