Position Overview

  • To assist the team in your section to ensure the highest standards of product
  • To work with the Senior team members to develop your products and skills
  • Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

  • Participates in food production, portions meats, fish, vegetables and desserts and utilise food surpluses to control food costs
  • Ensures daily food preparations meet outlined recipes including portion size, quantity and quality
  • Performs routine and complex food tasks to achieve agreed standards
  • Maintains food quality control. Ensures proper food rotation, which will eliminate spoilage and waste
  • Maintains a clean and efficient kitchen section and ensures maximum utilisation of food
  • Communicates with and assists back-of-the-house personnel to maintain efficient food production
  • Qualifications and Desirables

  • The ideal Commis Chef will be passionate about creating exquisite cuisine and delighting our guests
  • Hotel or restaurant background
  • Previous experience in a 5-star luxury environment is desirable but not essential
  • Good level of spoken English required
