Day to day the successful applicants will need to manage workload, resources and targets harmoniously. Overseeing small teams and checking performance and quality amongst your team.
On a wider scale we are looking for people who can add knowledge, ideas, energy, enthusiasm and experience in varying levels to contribute to our team synergies and help continually improve the UK DC’s fulfilment and ongoing development.
The roles are reporting to one of the seven Work Area Managers within the DC
Provides a safe working environment by working with the DC & Logistics Management Team, and Health & Safety Manager embedding the behavioural safety program in every area of the UK distribution sites
Ensures all HR and Health & Safety policies and procedures are communicated, understood and adopted
Determines, communicates and monitors daily team targets as well as communicating deadlines, setting goals, motivating team members and managing any performance issues.
Proactively reviews, co-ordinates and assigns resources ensuring daily targets are met and priorities are aligned
Monitors progress vs targets and communicates root cause analysis with reference to service / process failure suggesting corrective action
Ensures team members adherence to standard operating procedures and monitors quality
Develops team capability through training, coaching and performance management
Has between 5 - 40 direct reports
Has excellent communication skills and is able to adapt their communication style to the audience.
Has ability to develop an environment of trust and mutual respect that builds and develops relationships.
Is able to gain commitment, agreement and support that motivates the team to go above and beyond
Provides clear direction and allocates resources to respond effectively to the changing needs of the business in a timely manner
Consistently challenges standard processes, looking for new and different ways of working, driving efficiency and / or cost savings
Pro-actively provides performance feedback in a constructive and positive manner
Recognises achievement, a job well done at both individual and team level
Maintains a professional approach at all times - represent their function if required at meetings
Is able to deputise for Work Area Manager if required
