Team / Function Overview :

The Business Expense transparency group is a global function with the mandate of optimizing Transaction Expense costs and implementing best in class expense management practices.

The team supports multiple areas across the Transaction Expense base, including supply management, demand management, expense reporting, analysis and control, expense systems development and data transparency.

Role / Position Overview :

The Transaction Expense Business Analyst will join the Global Business Expense Transparency organization and will support the development and enhancement of Citi’s Trade Cost Calculator and Analytics platform, which is a best in class system designed to provide insight into Citi’s trading costs and activities.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage the development of the VARCITI trade cost analytics platform
  • Engage with system stakeholders across front office, middle office, operations and technology to understand functions, dependencies and design of robust analytics and metrics
  • Assist in producing meaning and detailed trade and cost analytics, including volume and product profiling reports, to identify key expense trends and cost drivers
  • Work closely with technology throughout the software delivery lifecycle to deliver business requirements and ensure timely release of new products
  • Development Value :

    Own the trading cost fee calculation and volume reconciliation processes across multiple products, carrying out analysis of areas identified for enhancements and gathering requirements for enhancements to increase transparency and accuracy.

    Knowledge / Experience :

  • Proven track record within a commercial, fast paced business environment of technology role with extensive years of relevant experience required to be considered
  • Experience / appreciation of the software delivery lifecycle
  • Knowledge of products traded across Fixed Income, Commodities and Equities preferred
  • Understanding of trade flow processes / systems
  • Skills :

  • Candidate should have extensive years of overall experience that includes extensive years in the financial services industry (preferably in investment banks).
  • Ideal candidate would be a self-contained individual contributor with a go getter attitude to develop software meeting the laid down quality metrics within the project environment.

  • The candidate would have prior working experience in a competitive, high paced environment to deliver software to meet business needs.
  • Strong PC skills essential including MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Project management or similar technology related qualification beneficial
  • Strong database development capabilities. RDBMS and No SQL with database administration (DBA) experience and / or certifications
  • Experience in Qlikview is desired.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Strong analytical skills, mathematical problem-solving capability and attention to detail a prerequisite
  • Highly organized with the capability of working with both regional and global teams

  • Detail oriented with a passion for maintaining standards.
