Facilities & Environment Manager

Location : UK - Flexible

Do you have a proven track record of environment and facilities management? First Bus' Head of Safety, Environment & Facilities has a new permanent employment opportunity available which you may find interesting.

What will you be doing?

  • Guiding a culture of compliance and continuous improvement with facilities and environmental related matters across the Bus Division.
  • Implementing consistency across the division and a consistent approach to leading the adoption of facilities and environmental management systems across all First Bus Operating Companies.
  • Ensuring compliance to company policy and procedures in relation to environmental and facilities management involving buildings, plant, machinery and equipment.
  • Working with the SHE Managers, across the division, to ensure compliance of statutory inspections, building safety and environmental standards.
  • Raising awareness of developments within the industry and within the professional field of environment and facilities to ensure appropriate policies are developed and adhered to in support of the Divisional strategy and business plan whilst complying with all relevant statutory regulations.
  • Setting the highest standards of performance, lead the way by example and demonstrates passion and will power to influence, inspire and motivate our people.
  • What facilities & environmental-related experience will you need to be considered for this opportunity?

  • You'll already have, or be working towards an environmental qualification such as NEBOSH General certificate in environmental management or the Institute of environmental management and Assessment IEMA qualification and membership.
  • You will possess, or be working towards a facilities management qualification such as The Business Institute for Facilities Management BIFM level 5 qualification, as a minimum.
  • In-depth understanding of ISO 14001 : 2015 and environmental management systems.
  • Conversant in risk management, compliance and internal auditing.
  • Along with having a proven track record of environment & facilities management, you must be an effective networker and have the ability to interact with key senior stakeholders.

    Someone with a solution focused approach and can-do' attitude is required.
