  • Purpose of Role :

    Reporting to the Drafting Supervisor, the Draughtsman will create mechanical and electrical drawings of low and medium complexity using 3D CAD.

    You will also create Bill of Materials (BOM) via the ERP system.

    The Successful Candidate will have :

  • 2 years' experience in a similar position in a manufacturing / engineering environment
  • Conversant with Auto Desk Inventor 2D / 3D
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Aptitude for electro-mechanical products and applications.
  • Ability to create 3D models & assemblies in a CAD environment.
  • BIM Modelling
  • Familiarity with a range of manufacturing methods, e.g. injection moulding, stampings, extrusions, machining and fabricating
  • Ability to produce low & medium complexity wiring diagrams
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Must have excellent communication skills to be able to liaise with existing and new customers
  • Knowledge of UK Electrical Codes (Advantageous)
  • Willing to travel internationally when required (Infrequent)
  • Responsibilities Overview :

  • Create dimensioned drawings and 3D models based on input from engineers and customers.
  • Perform low & medium complexity design work on components including 3D components and assemblies.
  • Create parts lists for new products.
  • Create catalogue pages, illustrations and animations.
  • Support work within ERP system.
  • Provide assistance to Purchasing, Quality, Production & Engineering with New Product Introduction design.
  • Prototyping
  • Work with Production to build prototypes of new designs.
  • Assist Production with product assembly & testing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Undertake Engineering Change Notification (ECN) activities.
  • Participate in Kaizan events
  • Assist with drawing and other support for listing projects
