Financial technology (FinTech) firms have their sights on virtually every aspect of financial services. FinTech firms are designing and introducing alternatives to traditional financial services, products and services, partnering with financial institutions key areas of innovation, and developing new technologies that are changing financial services.

The UK FinTech market is expected to grow by 245% from 2019 to 2030, generating a corresponding £38b in revenue by 2030.

The purpose of EY’s FinTech team is to cater to early and mid-stage FinTechs as well as large FS firms engaging in FinTech.

We do this by supporting FinTech companies with EY’s services, collaborating with them to create new propositions and by connecting with EY partners and clients.

We work closely with the top management teams of FinTechs and financial institutions helping to address the significant business, regulatory and financial challenges that arise during their growth journeys.

We work with EY services delivery ( service line’) teams to meet client needs. Furthermore, we provide FinTechs with the expertise and tools to collaboratively build platforms and software to solve client challenges.

The team requires experienced FinTech industry practitioners with both client and consultancy experience and the ability to contribute to a high calibre team that is rapidly expanding its market leading business.

Your key responsibilities

You will be responsible for creating and developing new market opportunities and propositions, evolving our delivery capability, service offering and standing in the marketplace and supporting the ongoing development of the team.

Your responsibilities will also include :

  • Support / responsible on account management for a portfolio accounts including early stage FinTech businesses
  • Effectively manage multiple projects, balancing these with business-as-usual responsibilities
  • Take a leading role in the analysis of sector trends and development of client discussion materials / thought leadership, building high impact, insightful material
  • Support delivery for selected client projects
  • Play an important role in creating and executing best-in-class FinTech client sector focus
  • Work collaboratively across the FinTech team and other sector teams
  • Support development of presentations and decks
  • Coordinate networks, prepare and support meetings : logistics, agenda, minutes, presentations, follow-ups
  • Play an important role in creating and executing best-in-class brand and marketing programs, including creating plans and timelines
  • Provide strong support to team members within FinTech team to deliver against EY’s global strategy laid out under our NextWave Strategy
  • Support leaders in stakeholder management
  • Assist with budget management
  • Skills and attributes for success

  • Bachelor’s degree qualified (or equivalent qualifications or experience) or above, with significant related experience in business development and / or complex services and solutions sales, gained from sizable multinational companies in the professional services and solution provider arena
  • Strong understanding of trends, developments and personalities in the FinTech industry in the UK
  • Business focused with executive presence
  • Demonstrate understanding and application of the principles and practices of account management
  • Able to network effectively across the FinTech industry and within the firm to gain visibility, profile and engagement
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Industry knowledge of financial services beyond FinTech (Insurance / banking / etc.)
  • Strong team player / team management skills
  • Relationship development and account management skills
  • Facilitation and leadership skills
  • Commercial acumen
  • Ability to interact credibly with client across a broad set of business issues
  • Ability to form teams from across multiple Service Lines to deliver a joined up client situation

  • Some knowledge of the account management, relationship tools and processes of a professional services firm
