  • I am currently recruiting for a Technical Sales Manager to join a materials manufacturing company to be home / field based, on a full time permanent basis.

    Please note this person will be expected to travel throughout the UK and Ireland on a regular basis and ideally this person will be located in the South East of England.

    The Company : Our client manufactures a range of products for use in industrial and chemical applications. They have various business units and divisions, and a role has now become available for a Technical Sales Manager to cover the UK and Ireland.

    This person will be working within the division involved with fibre solutions for use in industrial filtration applications and will be responsible for managing the sales and technical support for allocated customers.

    Ideally this person will be southern based and travel will be required throughout the UK and Ireland, and occasionally overseas.

    The successful candidate will be a well organised, self managing and motivated individual capable of working from home. Due to the technical sell required the ideal candidate will have a background in chemistry and also have a hands on understanding of production processes, with a commercial background.

    The company offers a salary in the range of £40-50,000 per annum depending on experience as well as a car allowance, bonus, generous holidays, pension and additional benefits.

    Location : This role is home based with travel required throughout the UK and Ireland. Ideally the successful candidate will be based in the South East of England.

    The Role : Your main duties will be to :

  • Develop and execute Strategic Account plans for all customers.
  • Plan and achieve the sales budgets in terms of volume, Turnover, and GM1 for the Business Units in the UK & Ireland.
  • Building relationships to develop new business with existing customers.
  • Dealing with general customer enquiries, both technical and commercial.
  • Attending trade shows.
  • Gathering market info with regards the business units.
  • Organising technical seminars in the UK and Ireland.
  • Controlling the stock of samples in the UK office in liaison with customer service team.
  • Handling customer complaints and maintaining records.
  • Your Background : The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience :

  • Driving license - essential.
  • Relevant hands-on technical background - essential.
  • Prior commercial experience - strongly preferred.
  • Well organised - essential.
  • Self managing - essential.
  • Motivated - essential.
