Why this role matters

This finance role is a finance business partner for the Managed Customer Service team. The Managed Customer Service supports and delivers the service provide to our MAPS customers.

They support a multiude of customers ranging fromteh Met police to the NHS and Major corporates such as Boots.

The finance business partner is key to understanding what the MCS team support, the level of service needed to meet our customers needs and being able to fully understand the amount of work to be charged back to each contract.

The MCS team are required to deliver a level of efficiency year on year and it is critical that the finance BP challenges how this is delivered and what changes in the team to enable the costs to reduce.

It is important for the finance BP to work with the team and understand the costs to be able to recharge. It is also important that the Finance BP works with the stakeholders to communicate effectively the performance of the unit vs the forecast.

The Finance BP will support the unit and challenge the KPI measures to ensure the team are working efficienctly and effectively.

This role will be key to delivering a high performing Service team in Enterprise looking at both tactical and strategic opportunities to transform our business and deliver for our customers.

They will be fundamental in changing the way we do business for our customers and can really push to put the customer at the heart of everything that we do.

What you'll be doing

  • Finance business partner for Managed Customer Service
  • To ensure financial control of the business unit
  • To provide P&L and BS control for P&L
  • Ensure all charges are recharged back to Channel P&L’s with backup and analysis for the activities of the teams
  • Challenge the operational teams on targets, utilisation, offshoring / onshoring opportunities, drive best practice for the area, challenge the right size’ of the organisation
  • Detailed explanations at month end and forecast, including the why and how.
  • Driving Cost Transformation agenda and following through to P&L
  • Lead on business cases and capex investment plans for Managed Customer Service
  • Challenge and drive transformation agenda

  • Recommend courses of action to optimise P&L outcomes
  • Communication of the performance of the MCS organisation to stakeholders KPI metrics, volumes delivered, transformation updates

  • Ensure adherence to SG&A controls for TLC / TLR and non-pay
  • Financial control of the unit

  • Accounting : Leverages knowledge from multiple functional areas and anticipates impact of future requirements.
  • Understands and applies knowledge and understanding of company financial statements, accounting principles.
  • Financial Analysis : Oversees and reviews the financial and operational analysis for the business. Develops business cases that may impact numerous parts of the business.
  • Provides in-depth commentary that reflects understanding of wider operating environment
  • Forecasting, Planning and Budgeting : Oversees and reviews forecast / budget at detailed level, demonstrating an understanding of their inter-relationship.

  • Experience of working with Finance teams in other units and central finance teams to deliver the unit financials
  • Understand the way interpret and challenge the financial results and articulate the why and the how on performance
  • Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insight, to inform decision making.
  • Be willing to voice an opinion and look at the art of the possible Must be able to create a clear vision, delivering against key metrics
  • Demonstrates an extremely high level of analytical capability

  • Understands the Telecoms industry with good product knowledge.
  • An excellent track record of effectively communicating and challenging the status quo from both an internal and external perspective
