Join our Virgin Media Business team as our Data Services Manager and you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team responsible for Data Services as part of a National team.

You will provide, maintain and operate Virgin Media Business products and services within a designated area.

Your responsibilities will be wide ranging, but principally you will be accountable for :

  • Effective area installation, maintenance and repair activities achieving key operational performance measures (SLA’s, KPI’s, etc) for installation, speed of fix, reliability, availability, quality and customer satisfaction
  • Regularly reviewing operational reports to identify areas for improvement implement solutions including performance improvement plans
  • Acceptance of new products, technology developments and services plus upgrades - ensuring they comply with engineering and operational guidelines / specifications
  • Providing first line management of your team, allocating work and monitoring their progress and performance
  • Delivering effective performance management through regular advisor coaching sessions on an individual and team basis to deliver service excellence.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with colleagues to ensure clear objectives are set and progress is regularly reviewed

  • Support Sales activities effectively promoting and driving increased post-Sales involvement and tender submissions
  • Ensuring on-going development team and individual development to maintain Virgin Media Business's Cisco Gold Partner status
  • Effectively planning and implementing preventative maintenance activities to improve and maximise service availability
  • Owning complaints and resolution for issues regarding Data Services for the area. Provide an effective escalation route for all major customer issues in relation to field activity and resolve appropriately
  • Managing Health & Safety regulations, to identify and arrange for the delivery of Health & Safety training requirements in line with Company policy
  • Ensuring maximum engineer utilisation through multi-tasking to support other Access division engineering activity when required
  • Effective management of OPEX budget and CAPEX expenditure for the cost centre ensuring compliance to financial governance processes
  • What are we looking for?

  • Previous management experience of leading operational teams
  • An understanding of the communications industry
  • Proven ability to develop a team and yourself.
  • Proven ability to identify, prioritise & delegate tasks as appropriate
  • Astute Relationship Management. Ability to work with key stakeholders, delivering change through agreement
  • Experience operating in a customer centric environment and possession of excellent people management skills including communication, negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Objective, analytical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to influence others in a challenging environment
  • Current driving license
