Dorset, Devon and Cornwall Community Rehabilitation Division (DDC) is part of the KSS CRC Probation. We provide a broad range of probation services for adult offenders on community orders or licenses.

As a senior probation officer you will be the driving force behind developing our people and practice. You will need a strong track record in quality management, performance management and developing the potential of staff.
You will be responsible for leading a team of up to 12 practitioners to achieve our business objectives in your function and the geography covered by your team.
Working as a middle manager and direct line manager you will be able to translate our strategic vision into a reality and find solutions to problems both within your team and the wider organisation.
This role presents an excellent opportunity to influence our practice at a local and regional level. You will need to be a motivated self-starter who can identify the needs of our service users and ensure that the services they require are delivered.
The role includes developing our internal delivery, engaging with our supply chain partners and local partnerships to achieve the best outcomes for service users.
As such you will need to demonstrate strong negotiation skills and be proactive in engaging with service users, colleagues, other internal functions and external partners.
You will also need to be adept at using qualitative and quantative information to drive performance and service user outcomes.
The role also offers the opportunity to develop skills in project management, bidding for contracts and strategic planning.
You will need to hold a Diploma in Probation Studies or social work qualification for this post and have experience of managing engagement, compliance and the risk posed to and by service users.

Salary : £37,166 up to £41,021 dependent on experience
