We’re looking for a Delivery Team Manager to join our dedicated project team focussing on station resourcing. As the Delivery Team Manager, you will lead the delivery team to implement the outputs of the project through effective collaboration, to provide a sustainable, resilient, and flexible lifeboat station resourcing model that meets regulatory requirements and delivers high value to the organisation and its people.

  • Your Role

    As Delivery Team Manager, your responsibilities in this role will include :

  • Manage, support, coach and develop a team of staff, promoting high quality interpersonal relationships to create a safe and inclusive environment for all RNLI people.
  • To be responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of the RNLI's station resourcing project by overseeing and line managing the Delivery Team in accordance with RNLI policies, standards and external legislation.
  • Identify high risk activities within your area and work effectively with partners to deliver mitigating actions.
  • Work collaboratively with the Programme Team and other business partners to ensure the project, organisational and regional goals and targets are met
  • Responsible for conducting management and project assurance within your area. Ensure effective reporting and risk management.
  • Monitor the work of Delivery Teams reporting on progress routinely.
  • Contribute expertise to organisational continuous improvement events, project work and working groups
  • Assist in representing the project to staff, volunteers, and external partners.
  • About You

    As the leader of the Programme Delivery Team, you will facilitate and manage the team to work collaboratively with Lifeboat Stations within an agreed Region, ensuring the successful implementation of station resourcing schedules and resource planning options including contracts for both employed lifeboat crew and, where appropriate, operational schedules for supporting volunteers.

    This will provide continuity of our rescue service and ensure the wellbeing of our employed crew and our volunteers.

    To be considered as the Delivery Team Manager you will need :


  • Educated to degree level or holds other relevant experience.
  • Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders at different levels with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of team coaching, mentoring and management, including working with virtual teams.
  • A demonstrable track record in driving improvement against clear and measurable targets, ensuring and monitoring compliance.
  • Desirable

  • Experience of supporting change programmes
  • Experience of working in or with an organisation that relies heavily on good rota or staffing management 24 / 7.
  • Experience of Project management tools and techniques.
