What we're looking for :
Direct Line Group is going through an exciting Digital transformation journey. We are developing a suite of web and mobile applications that will leverage our core enterprise insurance systems and provide our customers with the best and most modern web experience.
These apps will be built using a combination of modern UI technologies, microservices architecture, and proven integration patterns, and AWS Cloud.
To help us in our journey, we welcome talented Frontend engineers to join us.
Who you'll be working with :
You will work in the Digital experience squads, as part of a multi-functional agile delivery team, including analysts, architects, software engineers, and product owners.
We’re turning our brands into digital leaders and revolutionising how people use our products and services. Work with us, and you’ll find an in-house role with a start-up feel.
You will also be a part of a very thriving UI community, which is accountable to introduce, share, and maintain UI best practices, innovate and expand our UI capability across DLG.
What you'll be doing :
Building responsive, accessible and cross-browser compliant web components in AWS whilst following best coding practices and TDD / BDD.
In this role you will be :
Using HTML5, SCSS, Angular, RxJs, ngRx, Jasmine, TypeScript.
Unit & Integration tests for the front end application
Using standard GIT processes for development and peer reviews
Supporting release activity for your Scrum team
Staying ahead of industry developments and incorporate new technologies when applicable.
Learning. A lot.
Working within an Agile environment, you will coordinate with the Scrum team to prioritise tasks and complete them within mutually agreeable timescales.
Sharing new tools, technology and techniques with your Engineering Chapter, Engineering community and to the wider team.
