Description : Western General Hospital Site ,Acute Services Division (Lothian)

The post holder will work collaboratively within the multi disciplinary team providing quality care thus improving the patient's cancer journey.

This is achieved through the provision of specialist care and integration of core nursing skills.

The post holder will have responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery and maintenance of optimal care outcomes for all patients within the oncology in and out-

patient setting, providing expert professional and clinical care advice to patients' carers and multi-disciplinary team members.

The individual is expected to motivate staff to provide high standards of care by acting as a role model. Responsible for providing specialist education and training programs for health care professionals and other professional groups.

The Clinical Nurse Practitioner will implement and undertake research activities ensuring evidence-based practice in the specialist area.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership / record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.

e. child and / or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
