We are currently looking to recruit an Associate Principal Scientist to join our growing R&D PS&T team at Slough. Within this team, you will contribute to developing small-scale model processes across the platform.

As an Associate Principal Scientist, you will lead and develop small scale and scale down perfusion models as part of N perfusion platform process development.

You will be involved with bringing in innovative upstream perfusion process development technologies and optimising its usage.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a technical expert to deliver strategic vision within an innovative technology at Lonza!

Key Responsibilities :

Develop small scale and scale down perfusion models

Providing in-depth scientific leadership in matrix environment to lead innovation upstream perfusion process developmental projects

Expanding technical program understanding, take part in training of Operations team as required.

Mentor / coach existing lab scientists and junior SMEs

Champion systems improvements by supporting process innovation and define key knowledge areas critical to successful next generation development of platform perfusion process

Maintain knowledge of IP landscape

Key requirements :

BSc, MSc or PhD life sciences, and relevant experience within biopharma / biotech industry

Experience in small scale and scale down model development, within mammalian cell culture development

Experience using a broad range of single use bioreactors and experience with perfusion bioreactor processes

Research focus, with knowledge of process development, and an awareness of application for upstream techniques to pilot and into manufacturing

Knowledge and experience of working within perfusion technology within a development desirable

Experience working with a range of different molecules (mAbs, complex proteins) desirable

Strong communication skills with good evidence of stakeholder management, with the ability to lead and collaborate projects
