  • About your team The Economics and Business Analysis team at Jacobs is nearly 50 strong and spread throughout the UK. We undertake consultancy work for both public and private sector clients, covering research projects to inform policy development along with economic appraisal to inform decision making at all levels;
  • policy, plans and projects. We work closely with colleagues across the company to ensure an integrated approach to sustainability is applied on all projects.

    Our multidisciplinary team offers the unique opportunity to get involved in different areas such as social, urban and environmental economics, as well as infrastructure assessments.

    Our infrastructure disciplines include a mix of aviation, rail, roads and energy sectors. We are looking for an experienced Economist to join the team with specific experience in socioeconomics, environmental, transport economics and / or policy assessment.

    Primary Job Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the role are :

  • Support specific areas of analysis and research.
  • Economic and business modelling.
  • Develop junior members of the staff.
  • Write client reports.
  • Undertake cost-benefit analysis
  • Essential :

  • Experience in the provision of economic advice to clients
  • Strong academic economics or business training
  • Flexibility to undertake economic analysis in a variety of disciplines and / or industries
  • Strong analytical skills and financial literacy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills, are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence when interacting with others
