Team Leader - Digital Trade (1 role)
Digital is at the cutting edge of trade policy, and this role will put you at the heart of the UK’s negotiating team as we negotiate with multiple trading partners simultaneously.
You’ll need an eye for detail as well as the big picture, to negotiate credibly and frame digital trade interests in the Department and Government’s wider agendas.
You’ll manage a high performing team of trade negotiators, and will need to be able to work flexibly and at pace across a range of subject areas and negotiations.
This is a high profile role, with considerable autonomy and senior engagement required both within Government and externally.
Team Leader - EU Strategy (2 roles)
Taking full advantage of the opportunities presented by the UK’s exit from the EU is one of the government’s top priorities.
The EU Strategy team leads on DCMS’s work with Europe. The immediate focus for the team is coordinating work preparing for the end of the transition period on 31 December.
Our programme of work has around 20 projects across the department that need to be brought together to this fixed timeline, and against a backdrop made more complex by Covid-19.
Beyond the end of the transition period, we will need to build new relationships with our European neighbours, who will remain important allies and trading partners.
Successful candidates will need to work right across DCMS to drive the programme, and engage closely with Cabinet Office and other departments to ensure our work is aligned with the rest of government.
Ministers remain very focussed on this agenda, and you will expect to have very frequent engagement with the ministerial team.
You will lead a team of 6-10 people and act as a focal point for many others working on these issues within policy teams across the department.
The following sets out the responsibilities of the team leaders within EU Strategy. The exact remit of each role will be determined by the skills and experience of the successful candidates.
