Overview At Nexmo we believe we’ve just scratched the surface of enabling developers to embed communications into any app or device using APIs.
Platform API Apps are a critical enabler of the Platform APIs. They cover all custom Apps from Sample Apps, Reference Apps to Sales Demos, Marketing content (eg Use Cases) to Tutorials and beyond to integrations with third-
party applications and services. The API Apps sit above the Platform to enable customers and partners to get on-boarded and scale with the Platform.
We are looking for a Product Manager to help coordinate across teams and initiatives in order to make sure the correct team is engaged, the requirements are clarified and all apps are built, deployed and documented to clear guidelines and as part of the Definition of Done process.
This role would be ideal for a Developer or Developer Advocate wanting to move into Product Management as some hands-on work may be required.
Responsibilities Write and deliver the Apps strategy for the API Platform Group understanding where to focus efforts through identifying verticals, use cases, tech stack / partner opportunities.
Create, maintain and own the product roadmap across the API Apps team : Sample apps (feature or function snippets) Reference apps (Use Case demos) Work with DevRel on Tutorials (code and written content for Use Cases) Marketing Use Cases (content and reference material) Be a key contributor and product subject matter expert for the Business Use Case Plan and deliver Go To Market (GTM) plans for demos and applications for new products and features including blog posts and internal as well as external marketing.
Understand and prioritize customer needs for API Apps eg Use cases, verticals, programming languages, etc. Assist with build and delivery of all public facing demos and applications working with relevant teams to make sure they are delivered to the documented specifications (eg frameworks, libraries, branding, etc.
quality and timelines required. Facilitate cross-functional alignment cross all web portals consistent messages, content, and structure to the API Platform products.
Where required, be the Product Owner for product architecture and guidelines for how we communicate lifecycle phases, features, and capabilities.
Manage hosting and budget to build and deliver Apps where they can not be handled internally by any teams. Responsible for the Definition of Done process and requirements to deliver new products and features.
Work with Partners to build demos or customer solutions working with Sales and Pre-Sales to make sure the solution meets the customer needs.
Work with Solution Engineering to see if any demo that was created by any other team or partner can be incorporated into a single public portal.
Required Skills & Experience Computer Science degree or similar technical qualification Minimum 5 years experience in a relevant sector and function Minimum 3 years of Product Management experience Previous software development experience at some point in your career Experience building API products or using APIs as a developer User Experience and User Interface design and methodologies.
Experience in building and assisting with the build of complex UIs for Web and Mobile applications. Knowledge of enterprise SaaS such as CRM, Analytics, Campaign Management, Collaboration, iPaaS would beneficial Experience with working building and delivering iOS and Android native applications.
Experience with Agile methodologies & tools (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) Experience using Jira, Confluence and project management tools Attributes Consistent track record working in and delivering complex multi-
stream projects Highly analytical and at ease with influencing others through facts, insights and great presentation abilities Self-
open to different methods to achieve business goals Experience rolling up your sleeves at start-ups or able to demonstrate an ambitious track record at a large corporation or in parallel to your work.
