Scope of the position (summary) :

Reporting to the Vice President of Portfolio Strategy, the Director of Market Access, International is accountable for developing and implementing a successful LivaNova product portfolio value and access strategy across the International region.
In order to maximise patient access to LivaNova products and deliver sustainable commercial profitability, we seek a talented leader with demonstrated strategic and technical capabilities.
In this role, you will work hands on to support some key geographies and manage headcount within other key markets. You will work collaboratively with regional leaders to ensure the team can support and deliver on the company vision.
In markets lacking the local capabilities you will be expected to contribute value and access strategies directly. Working within a matrix environment, the Director sits in the central Portfolio Strategy team.
The individual will contribute towards establishing the team as the centre of excellence for market access across the region.
You will also serve as a key conduit between the International region of markets and the Global Pricing Health Economics Market Access Reimbursement Access Team.
The Director will serve as the resident MA expert for the central team on regional trends and methods to ensure the achievement of optimal value and access positioning for the LivaNova pipeline, launch and in-market brands.
The Candidate will be responsible identifying opportunities, prioritisation and deployment of resources within their area of responsibility to ensure achievement of business objectives and product availability to patients.
Main responsibilities :
A core member of the Portfolio Strategy Team, accountable for the achievement of the business goals, in line with the strategic priorities of the organisation
Drives together with assigned team the development and timely implementation of market access and policy strategies, including key pricing decisions for launched brands and input for early stage assets within designated markets
Pro-actively identifies and prioritizes market access opportunities supported by financially sound business proposals within designated countries
Ensures alignment of business objectives and deliverables between the market access team with the Portfolio Strategy Team, Country Leaders and Global MA via successful communication and collaboration
Proposes a sound strategy for the appropriate resourcing & deployment of market access headcount and budget within designated geography
Contributes to the Market Access team becoming a center of excellence in developing and communicating health economic and market access messages and strategies to colleagues across the organization
Establishes and maintains a dynamic reimbursement landscape and stakeholders mapping
Organizes and / or partners with Medical Affairs to implement payer / clinical advisory boards, as needed, across appropriate geographies and products to capture and inform the market access activities and deliverables
Delivers and / or oversees development of tailored reimbursement dossiers / value proposition / value tools (incl health economic models) that speak to various stakeholders including national health authorities, regional and local payers, in both public and private setting within designated geography
Develops / delivers any required in-service training to sales, marketing and other functions on health economic tools to be used in the field
Proposes and implements in collaboration with other functions within the Pricing Committees value-based pricing approaches and develops informed pricing corridors and target prices within designated geography
Develops informed market access strategies by relevant stakeholders and develops communication and engagement plans with such stakeholder groups important in the reimbursement process, e.
g. payers, physicians, patient groups, associations, academic groups
Keeps abreast of changes in the healthcare systems across geographies under responsibility, assesses implications and communicates within the organization
Looks for opportunities to streamline, integrate or leverage ways of working, processes, best practices or systems to enable organizational or team performance
Communicates market access messages externally across a variety of channels including meetings, conferences, academic publications, etc.
Manages business relationships with relevant HTA and governmental bodies within designated geography
Develops the most effective way of partnering with industry organizations to advance mutual goals within designated geographies
Ensures that the vision and objectives of the department are cascaded down to her / his assigned team
Coaches more junior staff in achieving their business objectives and developing their skills
Commercial acumen, with the ability to challenge the status quo, bring new thinking, and a continuous improvement mentality.
Solid skills and proven extensive hands-on experience and networks in the field of market access, health economics and pricing
Understanding of healthcare ecosystems in key geographies including commercial challenges and reimbursement / policy trends
Excellent ability to organise and simply communicate complex data to diverse audiences
Ability to align others behind a strategy across internal cross-functional teams as well as external audiences.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, s / he will be able to influence and drive change internally and externally
Agility to search and respond to drivers of changes in the internal and external environment
Ability to turn data into insights, insights into strategy, strategy into tactics, mobilise resources, and drive excellent execution
Demonstrated skills and experience in apppopriate allocation and deployment of resources including people, activities, projects and investment

Required Education & Qualifications :
Minimum 7 years work experience across the fields of market access, HEOR (health economics and outcomes research) and pricing within an international pharmaceutical or medical device company
Master’s degree or other advanced degree (e.g., MS, MPH, MBA, PhD) in health economics, public health, health services research / management, epidemiology, biostatistics, health care administration, economics or related discipline.
Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
Experience in the fields of cardiovascular and neuromodulation are a plus
