We have an exciting Permanent opportunity for a Technical Lead to join the Application and Test Services team to lead the internal content management system development Specialist Team.

As Technical Lead your energy and commitment, organisation and technical experience will be key to sustaining and enhancing the high performance of your team.

You will lead an enthusiastic team which develops and maintains websites across the Royal London Group which are built upon the Episerver platform, helping internal customers from various business units achieve their Digital goals.

Building effective relationships with those customers, you and your team will work with them to shape their requirements into quality, cost conscious solutions which enhance their websites.

All while prioritising demands for production incidents, support requests, small change and larger project delivery work.

In addition, you are also accountable for associated tooling selection, vendor management and technical roadmap for the technologies and capabilities that underpin this capability.

A lead member of the Group Application & Test Services team, you are an integral part of a larger function delivering Application Development and Support, and Test Services to the Royal London Group of businesses.

Reporting to an Application Services Manager, your experience, ideas and enthusiasm will be a welcome addition to our team, as you help shape and improve our services to meet the evolving needs of Royal London.

Responsibilities :

  • Provides problem management and incident resolution capability (support) for the technology for which they are responsible.
  • Builds trusting relationships with key stakeholders and internal customers.
  • Provides expertise to the specialist team on the methods and tools needed to deliver change through the specialist technology.
  • Ensures required technical upgrades and maintenance are scheduled, working closely with relevant 3rd party vendor(s).
  • Manages the team’s performance against key deliverables and measures quality against agreed internal benchmarks.
  • Responsible for managing the performance of 3rd party vendor(s) against contractual obligations and SLAs.
  • Identifies opportunities to leverage new capabilities within the platform to add value to the business and our customers.
  • Inputs to MTP planning and portfolio shaping activities across the Group.
  • Will assist Practice Manager / Lead with recruitment of permanent and flexible resource.
  • Skills, Qualifications & Experience :

  • Has a strong understanding of Software Development solutions and practices
  • Has a strong knowledge of leading technical delivery and software development teams
  • Has successfully led development teams to deliver complex solutions
  • Commercial experience in operational management of 3rd party suppliers
  • Good experience in systems design
  • Effective prioritisation of competing demand across BAU support, continuous improvement and delivery of larger scale change
  • Proven track record of enhancing the performance of a team
  • In-depth knowledge of Software Configuration and Release & Deployment
  • Experience of contract management
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • A strong interest in emerging technology monitoring, to be utilised as part of continuous improvement activity
