As a Site Reliability Engineering Manager, you lead multiple functional teams of highly talented individuals and are responsible for some of the largest data & product platforms in the world.

Although you have management experience, you are relentlessly technical, capable of performing the role of any engineer reporting to you.

As with any engineer we hire, the ability to communicate well is crucial, and you manage multiple initiatives with multiple engineers potentially across multiple time zones in order to achieve dunnhumby’s reliability and efficiency goals.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running.

From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of dunnhumby platforms, we make dunnhumby's product portfolio possible.

We're always on call to keep our infrastructure up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

What we expect from you

  • Mentoring individual contributors, SME and recruiting and developing talent capable of scaling dunnhumby through high growth
  • Communicate and deliver to commitments, demands, SLAs and SLOs, and increase the velocity of our teams by removing roadblocks
  • Build relationships with other Engineering teams, Product Management, Data Science, Project Management, and related groups to build and improve our growing critical infrastructure
  • CI / CD, automation, and building self-service catalogue
  • Review the OPEX spend across all the hosting platforms and improve efficiency to reduce costs of dunnhumby products & services hosted on these platforms
  • Analyse current and future needs to plan the organizational roadmap
  • Ensure the availability of systems and services critical to dunnhumby's mission
  • Drive a culture of reliability and transparency across the infrastructure engineering organization
  • Prioritize, direct and appraise the activities of engineers
  • Assertively lead and be a change agent : continuously observe, review and improve the team's productivity and efficiency
  • Ensure we hit our engineering hiring plans, leveraging a personal network formed from being effective at ongoing recruiting, and based on solid understanding of local engineering-talent marketplaces and regional differences
