We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Creative Film Maker & Content Producer within our InGAME project, to support the programme by telling the story of InGAME and the gaming industry in Dundee and beyond.

This is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months.

Working with a project team of researchers, including a Social Media Intern, our aim is to authentically explain the project, the scale and scale of the games industry, the R&D and innovation we support with multiple partners through interdisciplinary approaches.

With an increasing focus on storytelling through a multi-channel format covering traditional and social media, the objective is to build a positive InGAME reputation synonymous with the investment of the £11M Creative Economy Cluster programme and scale of the industry and its significant contribution to the UK economy and reputation.

We are looking for a creative film maker, with high level production and editing skills, to lead on this area of the project, making independent decisions as the producer documenting the project, working within broad parameters set by the InGAME leaders.

The role will be responsible for making films that bring to life InGAME stories about the people involved, place, and games industry targeting an audience that will potentially include industry leaders, funders, advisors, and experts locally, nationally, and globally.

Your priorities will include :

You will be comfortable directing, shooting, and editing, and capable of documenting and weaving engaging and authentic stories and communicating these clearly.

You will lead the creative aspects of the film making process and production, ranging from short films for social media to documentary films and / or animation.

You will need to shoot on location, and when needed will work with external, specialist teams, as well as in collaboration with other creative teams and stakeholders involved in the InGAME project.

As well as understanding excellent production values, you should be able to innovate and turn films around quickly, to limited budget and within varied timescales

Who we’re looking for :

Postgraduate education (Masters or PhD) in a relevant field or with equivalent experience.

  • Must have proven high level experience in producing and editing engaging content in a variety of formats including for multi-platform distribution (inc. social media).
  • Proven experience in short-form documentary film making, editing and production.
  • Experience working directly with clients at all levels of film understanding.
