This is an exciting opportunity to join a Local Authority and Clinical Commissioning Group who are at the forefront of integrated working.

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic person who will lead in the commissioning of good quality and safe integrated health and social care services to deliver positive outcomes adults and children with mental health needs.

The post holder will work across and be accountable to both the Local Authority and Clinical Commissioning Group.

Ideally with a social work qualification or relevant other professional qualification, your key areas of responsibility will include :

  • Taking the lead for the commissioning of services across the full commissioning cycle including the development of commissioning strategies and the performance management of a designated portfolio of commissioned services to include :
  • oPrimary and community mental health

    oPerinatal mental health

    oAdult acute mental health and social care

    oMulti-agency transition planning for young people across health, social care and education

  • Along with the Senior Commissioning Manager, responding to the recent Mental Health pathway review for adult community services and working with local organisations to implement the Thrive model in B&NES
  • Responding to the requirements of the NHS 10 year plan for improving the quality of care for people with mental health needs.
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate :

  • An engaging and collaborative style, able to develop effective partnerships
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and staff management skills
  • Significant commissioning and contract management experience in a health and social care setting
  • A creative and innovative approach
  • The ability to lead and manage change
  • Working knowledge of current legislation and best practice relating to both health and social care for adults and children with mental health needs.
