You will be running the UK part of the global programme to provide Verified Employment and Income data to Lenders driven by partnerships with new data partners and driving towards a $20m+ product line within the next 5 years.
Creation of access to standardised verified data in employment and income for existing sectors.
Using this innovation to win new business and upsell to existing customers
Establish and grow a $20m+ product line
Leads product strategy from being accountable for the provision of a 5 year strategic plan through to providing the inputs needed to prioritise delivery of new features.
They are responsible for the market inputs to the product including data partnerships, venture investments, and sales (both our GTM team and doing presales / research engagements with clients).
They are accountable for the commercial strategy of the product from pricing, to vertical market prioritisation and driving fast scaled adoption of the roadmap value drops that they create for the delivery teams to build.
They are responsible for driving the marketing strategy for their product and ensuring that the market knows about this new data, what value it can bring and how it can be made available to them.
They are accountable for the relationship with our venture partner ensuring teams remain aligned both day-to-day and strategically and that both the partner and Experian’s interests are protected as the product is taken to market by Experian sales teams.
Maintain a consistent operating model for client successful utilisation
They will engage pilot clients on new features ensuring that there is a path to scalability and consistency for market driven features.
This role will define the product roadmap and value associated with it to support delivery teams decision making.
This person collaborates closely with the market and delivery teams to clearly share client and market inputs to help understand feature development, roadmap items and the ends strategic goals.
They will partner closely with Product Owners to share product roadmaps and explain market evidence and to drive the prioritization of work accordingly.
They will build and own the relationship with our venture partner, and the data parnterships that they are responsible for.
They own the relationships with their internal delivery teams and other domain leaders.
They will build relationships with non-DCI teams such as Sales, Compliance, Marketing, and the Data Office to ensure the successful delivery and commercialisation of their product.
They will build relationships with the other global verification leaders to align on language, GTM, proposition structure and strategy ensuring that the UK stays ahead of other markets in delivering the best Verification Solution for the UK environment.
Lead Elevate Performance ensuring that all team members have stretching personal objectives, development plans and regular performance reviews to embed a high-performance culture.
Develop and implement talent management and succession plans to identify and develop high potential employees and ensure an available talent pipeline to meet business and capability requirements.
Establish and frequently review the organisational structure and allocation of responsibilities, accountabilities and necessary resources to ensure regulatory obligations are met and that the business is managed and controlled effectively.
Define and drive clear goals and objectives for the business area
Drive employee engagement and openly encourage two-way communication flows
Ensure training and competency plans are in place and that all team members complete required training in a timely manner.
Develop a general understanding of the customers at the vertical level and then deep understanding of the engaged customers specific nuances to provide insight and direction to the roadmap strategy.
Promote the development of client relationships. Spend a proportion of their time in face to face engagement with senior client individuals to gain an understanding of market dynamics and seek to exceed client’s expectations.
Champion a culture that achieves the business goals, delights customers and keeps consumer advocacy at the heart of everything that Experian does.
Ensure that good client value is at the centre of decision making and establish frameworks and ways of working to quantify client value.
Act in a manner conducive to the fair and reasonable treatment of all consumers irrespective of whether these are Experian UK clients and consumers or not.
Governance and Control
Drive the Experian side of fortnightly steering with our venture partners ensuring communications are clearly shared across the venture partner and Experian as required.
Set the strategy and communicate adjustments with DCI, and any of the Exec or SLT as required.
Ensure the commercial interests of Experian and the product are protected in sales and client engagements.
Ensure Athena data is accurate and up to date per the agreed processes within DCI.
Regularly and pro-actively identify business risks and issues and ensure appropriate steps to mitigate risks are in place.
Ensure internal product development controls are adhered to
Set clear KPIs and delegate authority for day-to-day operational decisions to ensure achievement and management of these KPI’s.
Ensure fit-for-purpose risk management processes, practices and associated accountabilities and that these are embedded through training and communication.
Ensure that the business area operates to Experian UK’s governance, risk, compliance and control frameworks
Ensure that the business area operates within its conduct risk strategy and risk appetites, keeps the strategy and appetites under regular review, and plays its part in ensuring that Experian UK operates within its conduct risk strategy and risk appetites.
Ensure that business area maintains appropriate information security, resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements within the framework set by the UK Board.
Ensure that business area operates within Experian UK’s policies in relation to information security, financial crime, outsourcing, complaints, vulnerable consumers, product development and other key areas of regulatory risk.
Ensure clearly documented fit- for-purpose operational processes.
Lead by example and drive adherence to all regulatory requirements. Ensure appropriate controls are applied to product features being developed and ensure that the interests of customers are upheld.
Deal with the FCA and with other regulators in an open and cooperative way and disclose appropriately any information or misconduct.
Take reasonable steps to ensure that the business area complies with the relevant requirements and standards of the regulatory system.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Deep knowledge of the market and client processes and practices.
A good understanding of how data is used in financial services and experience delivering within a regulated environment preferably with a product that was heavily impacted by GDPR.
Experience working running with both D2C and B2B products and the ability to represent both the end-consumer and the client customer.
Experience working with third party relationships whether as a customer, client, partner or investor.
Previous experience managing a roadmap and a long-term product strategy
Ability to balance multiple workstreams and prioritise in an outcome-oriented way.
Strong communications skills with delivery teams to support the prioritisation of roadmap items against the strategic ambition and market demand of the product.
Prepared to challenge the status quo and coach others to do likewise to enable improvements
Works collaboratively, leads by example and inspires the trust of others.
Willing to work in a start-up type environment to get the product launched into market and then scale it to an enterprise level product offering alongside Experian’s products

Degree level or equivalent experience
Preferably with a Masters in business and / or economics.
