Morrison Utility Services are currently looking to recruit a Project Quantity Surveyor to work on our Anglian Water Alliance (IOS) contract based in Colchester, Essex with regular travel to our other Alliance offices.

As a Project Quantity Surveyor you will be part of the Alliance's commercial team who are responsible for the commercial management and reporting of all schemes delivered by the Alliance.

The Integrated Operational Solutions (IOS) Alliance was formed at the beginning of AMP6 (2015-2020) and has already been extended into AMP7 (2020-

2025) with an option to extend further into AMP 8 (2025-2030). Our Alliance partners include Barhale, Kier and Anglian Water.

Together we deliver CAPEX and TOTEX solutions to operational needs that arise throughout Anglian Water's operational sites.

Working in both clean water and water recycling facilities, our works can include Mechanical, Electrical or Civil projects, and in most cases, will involve an element of all three disciplines.

Projects range from £2k to £1m with an average project size of circa. £25k.

As the Project Quantity Surveyor a summary of your duties & responsibilities will be :

  • Cost management and forecasting
  • Commercial delivery of parcels
  • Subcontractor management
  • Change control, self-assurance and governance
  • Team management
  • Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of NEC3 forms of contract
  • Working in a complex matrix team environment
  • Thorough understanding of relevant construction and contract law
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Relevant degree in construction or commercial management
  • Ideally you will have relevant professional qualification e.g. RICS, CIOB, ICE

  • Have the ability to manage and co-ordinate teams across the entire AW footprint

  • Can mentor and support junior team members
  • Have expert commercial acumen
  • Have a willingness for travel across the entire AW Region on occasion
  • Are able to draft subcontracts
  • Can use Microsoft Excel to very high standard
