Overview :

You will be joining the Enterprise Risk Technology (ERT) group, which is the technology partner to the Risk divisions of the Bank including Credit Risk, Market Risk and Non-Financial Risk.

The team is responsible for the definition of the IT strategy and provision of solutions to allow all the of Risk divisions to manage the full-

spectrum of risk from the analysis of counterparty credit risk to the protection of the Bank's infrastructure and information.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Translating business requirements / business architecture to a system based IT solution as well as any associated roadmaps of the evolution of the solution to converge to overall strategic objectives
  • Working closely in the requirements gathering phase to determine key data input, outputs and functional processes from a front to back perspective
  • Determining the non-functional requirements such as data volumes, through put performance, data retention requirements, authorization / authentication etc.
  • in order to ensure solutions are scalable, robust, allow for agile change and meet any project Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and regulatory requirements

  • Identifying what functional requirements can be executed using existing systems / applications
  • Identifying functional gaps and translating to new applications (if required), new data feeds or how to extend / enhance existing systems
  • Communicating complex and broad range of information pertaining to the solution and roadmap clearly and appropriately various functions (Change the Bank (CTB), Run the Bank (RTB), business management, development teams)
  • Getting consensus on the solution and roadmap, ensuring buy in to the proposed architecture by all stakeholders
  • Producing relevant artefacts including architecture blueprints, decision logs and technical solution documents
  • Working with technical leads and application architects to ensure front to back solution alignment is achieved and interfacing contracts between different systems and domains are well defined and understood
  • Articulating key risks to program / project management
  • Facilitating the identification and evaluation of any third party products to be used against other competitor products
  • Skills & Qualifications :

  • Experience with solution architecture definition and development of associated roadmaps; particularly at the functional / domain level
  • Strong experience working in the financial industry and in particular having worked with Credit and / or Market Risk technology
  • Broad understanding of data and its usage within financial industry including reference, trade, market and risk data
  • Ability to assimilate large quantities of information in short periods of time
  • Understanding and experience of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and interdependency with architecture decisions
  • Providing technical leadership to software development teams and ensures adherence to SDLC standards, tooling and principles
  • Hands on experience in software development in either .Net or Java with strong knowledge of relation databases and ideally noSQL
  • Ability to relay complex information to a variety of end users from developers to senior managing directors within the business
  • Proactively, initiate, develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and the business
  • Sufficient understanding of solution concepts (server side platforms; databases / warehouses; reporting - Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) / Multidimensional Online Analytical Processing (MOLAP);
  • Common Design Patterns) in order to evaluate solution proposals

  • Familiarity with architecture tools and techniques (Unified Modelling Language (UML), basic data modelling and familiarity with tools to produce artefacts)
