The focus of this role is to contribute to increasing Oxford Health’s portfolio of mental health studies as well as the day-to-day supervision and support of a team of Clinical Research Assistants.

If successful, you will work as the Senior Research Assistant in the Mental Health Research Delivery (MHRD) Team, one of three delivery teams within the Research & Development department covering Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and parts of Berkshire.

You will work closely with the Mental Health Research Delivery Team (MH RDT) Leader to embed mental health research across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

You will be working at the Warneford Hospital in Oxford and from home but will be required to travel on a regular basis.

In this varied role, you will be responsible for identifying and setting up suitable research studies on the NIHR portfolio.

For this, you will need a working knowledge of trial protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge of and compliance with the local, national and international research regulations.

The studies OHFT supports range from observational research to commercial clinical trials of investigational medicinal products, with varied methodology in between.

In addition to the study setup, you will provide daily support and supervision to a team of twelve Clinical Research Assistants who work across the different clinical teams within the Trust.

The Research & Development department has strong links with the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford. If interested, you might choose to work towards your own research publication(s) in collaboration with the university in addition to the day-to-day research facilitation of the role.

A requirement of this post is the ability to travel independently on a daily basis, therefore access to a car and full driving license or an alternative means of travel is essential.

Please note : This post is a fixed-term maternity cover for 9-12 months (minimum 9 months with a possibility of extension to 12 months).
