Private Capital PDL (Practice Development Lawyer)
Bond Dickinson LLP
3d ago

We have an excellent (and fully flexible) opportunity to join our Private Capital team as a Practice Development Lawyer, working on a part-time basis (3 or 4 days per week).

The role can be home-based, with occasional attendance at one of our regional offices (Southampton, Newcastle, Leeds, Bristol or Plymouth), or a hybrid role with a mix of home and office working.

The role

  • The main focus of the role will be developing and maintaining the team's precedents. Other aspects of the role will include developing training materials;
  • providing legal updates on matters relevant to the team's practice and assisting with client requests for newsletters, horizon scanning, etc.

    The role is predominantly internally focussed, but there is likely to be a need to carry out client facing requirements, such as training or research.

    As such an appetite and enthusiasm for delivering training is key to the role.

    The team

    The firm's large and busy Private Capital Team which includes four sub-teams : estate planning, trust and estate disputes, probate and vulnerable client work, advises on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious private client topics, supporting a wide range of clients, whether individuals, trustees, corporate trustees, banks and other financial institutions across many sectors both nationally and internationally.

    The team is known particularly for its expertise in advising landed estates, entrepreneurs and internationally mobile families, particularly those with interests in the UK and the US.

    The candidate

    We're looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years PQE gained in Private Practice. However, aside from this, we are open-minded about what stage in their career any potential candidate might be.

    For example, the very flexible nature of the role means it may appeal to those looking to step away from fee-earning for the first time or those who are looking to return after a career break or those who are looking to work fewer days.
