The role
We are currently looking for a BI Developer to join our Technology team as a result of a major business transformation, underpinned by significant investment in Technology.
This is a really exciting opportunity and in the role you meet the visualisation, reporting and analytics needs of key business functions, as well as be involved with Power BI development and Data Engineering on the Microsoft Stack.
Other key responsibilities include :
Be responsible for leading all data analytics development on the strategic Data Platform and working with key stakeholders to achieve strategic reporting business outcomes
Create and maintain the Data Platform analytics technical components, including relational data modelling, star schemas, reporting views and ETL batch feeds
Produce and automate delivery of key metrics and KPIs to the business. In some cases, this will focus on making data available and others will be developing full reports for end users
Manage the Data Platform roadmap ensuring technical future proofing, capacity and optimisation of the platform
Maintain all Data Platform technical documentation including data maps, reporting definitions, KPI definitions, report schedules, reporting procedures and dependencies
About you
You have proven Business Intelligence and Data experience gained from working in a global company, along with extensive experience developing using SQL, relational databases and data warehousing techniques.
Additional experience required :
Experience with SQL, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, Power BI, Power Query and DAX
Strong coding skills and ability to write and de-bug ad hoc queries using various tools
Working knowledge of REST APIs
Ability to effectively develop new reports as well as troubleshooting existing reports and data queries
Strong technical documentation skills and ability to be clear and precise with business users
Ability to plan pragmatic approaches to data sets and reports that incrementally move to industry best practice
Experience of using Cloud technologies and tooling for Azure, Salesforce and Google would be a bonus
Python and an understanding of Machine Learning would be advantageous
