Purpose of role-

Management and control for all local spend on Dunbar site. Developing &

implementing best practice strategies to deliver value & cost savings to the

Cement & Lime business and Site.

Influence and support Tarmac C&L / CRH category strategies whilst leading

the implementation on a local level. Drive further innovation through the

Tarmac C&L Procurement Group. Ensure that local business requirements

are considered in the category strategy.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Expert management of strategic relationships with key suppliers to drive

value aligned to the objectives of the organisation.

Proactively engage and influence stakeholders, including Senior Mgt,

Tarmac C&L, Cluster teams and local cross functional teams to deliver

sourcing initiatives.

Drive best practice in stores / inventory management , whilst reducing

working capital.

Be seen in the business as the expert in Sourcing & Stores Management,

and able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge & understanding of all areas

of spend within the site and C&L.

Effective communication with end user stakeholders to ensure business

needs & requirements are understood.

Maximise value of contracts through compliance activity, proactive

business engagement and responsiveness to stakeholders.

Drive procurement & Stores KPI performance management through

contract management and create a culture of continuous improvement

with tangible results.

Ensure highest ethical principles and standards are implemented.

Drive execution of Cement & Lime , CRH regional and global strategies.

Lead the coordination all spend activities within site, during bid and

project execution phases.

Drive category cluster synergies across UK businesses and North cluster.

Education / Experience :

Educated to Engineering Degree level

7-10 years Procurement Experience

3-5 years stores experience

Experience in category management

Excellent written and verbal skills

Experience of working on international projects.

Experience of working in other industry / sectors would be an advantage

Preferred Experience

CIPS / MCIPS qualified preferred

MBA or equivalent in post graduate degree in contracts
