The Design Union is a team of talented Product Designers, UX Researchers, and UX Content Strategists at Groupon who are striving to revolutionize local commerce by impacting the experience of customers through our creativity and real passion for solid UX design.

Our multidisciplinary team focuses on innovating both consumer and merchant sides of product initiatives. We drive the end-to-end product design for both customers and merchants including defining the problem rooted from customer insights, brainstorming on the product vision, crafting and validating workflows, interactions, and visualizations.

As a Sr. User Experience Researcher you will drive, execute, analyze and socialize insights from our merchant and consumer customers and foster relationships with a broad range of team members and stakeholders in design, product, engineering, marketing and sales.

Based in London, this role will be part of the Design Union, a multi-functional team of product designers, content strategists and researchers and work collaboratively with a new team being created to grow Groupon’s International’ business, which is active in 13 countries across EMEA and APAC.

You will actively build a strong relationship with business leadership, marketing, sales, product and development teams to design a world-class consumer experience.

You’ll own a meaningful and wide range of products impacting the experience of millions of customers.

The Role

Create a deep understanding and empathy for Groupon customers and merchants by driving research efforts from conception through delivery of actionable insights using a variety of methodologies, including surveys, field research, lab and remote studies, journey maps and other methods

Champion the voice of the customer in cross functional delivery teams, collaborating on product and design decisions related to design decisions related to strategic initiatives in order to deliver a world-class Groupon experience

Creative approach to delivering research findings with different levels of fidelity to match the audience needs.

Contribute to the growth and evolution of the User Experience Research team by training others in the Design Union and in the product organization to conduct tactical level research themselves and work as a coach and consultant

Innovate on socializing insights throughout the organization, at all levels, including helping to create and contribute to a research repository

We’re excited about you if you have :

Bachelor's degree in HCI, Design, Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, Information Systems, or a related field and / or work experience

You have at least 5 years industry experience in User Experience or Design Research

You have at least 5 years experience conducting Usability Testing, Ethnology, Contextual Inquiry, Remote Testing and Survey Design

You have 5 years of qualitative analysis to create / present findings to various stakeholder groups

You have excellent verbal and written communication skills

You’re a self-starter who can execute in a dynamic environment with minimal direction, within a team construct that fosters constant communication

You possess a strong point of view through the lens of a customer advocate

A big plus if you have passion to create knowledge sharing repositories

A big plus if you have e-commerce or product experience
