Mechanical Laboratory Technician,

  • Fastenal Europe would like to invite ambitious, motivated and hard-working individuals to apply for two part time potential positions covering either shift pattern 1 or shift pattern 2 as a Laboratory Technician for our mechanical test lab.

  • Offering a competitive salary of £10.00 per hour.
  • Shift 1 : - 0600 1000 Shift 2 : - 1700 - 2200
  • OVERVIEW : Working as a Part-Time Laboratory Technician, you will use a co-ordinate measuring machine, various mechanical tools, gages and equipment types to test sample parts for performance, dimensional, mechanical, and chemical attributes to determine if they are acceptable to established standards or customer requirements.

    Full and comprehensive training will be provided. This position is located in the centre of Leeds at our manufacturing facility in Spensall.

    RESPONSIBILITIES : The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to :

  • Testing product in an UKAS Accredited Laboratory
  • Collecting and analyzing test data, and data entry
  • Communicating project status and results
  • Creating documentation, such as inspection instructions, reports on test results, and certifications
  • REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS : The following skills and qualifications are required for this position :

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic math aptitude.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented.
  • Strong organization, planning, and prioritising abilities.
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift, slide, lower packages and work test equipment.

  • Possess or working towards a Technical qualifications.
  • Prior experience using basic measuring equipment and inspection tools.
  • Basic understanding of geometry.
