The job in a nutshell
The role of the People Development Partner is to work closely with operational stakeholders to ensure all development requirements are met to support talent pipeline, Travelodge strategy and initiatives.
The role will own the tactical approach to management of people development (Team Member to Hotel Manager) and is accountable for working with L&D partners to identify and recommend appropriate commercially viable development solutions.
The role is key to driving successful operational change through the design and delivery of development solutions to support key people initiatives and people performance.
What you’ll be doing :
Working with relevant senior stakeholders (Regional Directors, District Managers and People Business Partners) across Travelodge to define and shape people development interventions to implement talent strategies to retain people who are highly motivated, highly mobile and have the potential to grow their capability. (Talent Pipeline)
Builds strong internal stakeholder relationships at all levels, promoting communication and innovation.
Manages multiple initiatives and BAU programmes at pace and delivers against key milestones. Ensures programme changes or critical issues are managed and communicated effectively and swiftly.
Key point of contact and responsible for relationship management of external providers ensuring contractual SLAs are adhered to.
Analysing and assessing data from digital platforms to identify gaps and propose commercially thought through people development interventions, either internally supported or sourcing external supplier solutions.
Evaluating existing development activities and the internal ways of working, against all levels of evaluation; colleague engagement with development to ROI, to continuously improve the user experience and efficiency of the function.
Prepare and deliver development budget forecasts and spend against each project / initiative, ensuring all development programmes remain within budget.
Preparing and producing progress reports making sure all agreed development deliverables are met.
Building strong relationships to motivate colleagues to succeed.
What we’ll expect from you
Previous experience in a Project Management role is desirable
An L&D background is preferred but not essential.
Previous experience of managing multiple complex projects.
Strong analytical and data reporting.
Hands on approach as you will be the point of contact and subject matter expert in all aspects of development in relation to People initiatives.
You will need to be a completer-finisher, you will need to demonstrate proven experience in development design, delivery and facilitation.
Demonstrating the creation of business plans and proposals will be advantageous.
A thorough understanding of how Business Partnering works and has the ability to understand the commercial impacts of decisions that are made.
Experience in a fast paced environment
Strong communication skills and ability to adapt style to people on all levels within the organisation
High ability to influence
Able to assimilate and interpret data in order to recommend development proposals and take key actions.
Able to read and understand P&Ls, dashboards, and company scorecards
