Teaching Personnel are looking for passionate and reliable Teaching Assistants to join a supportive team of staff at a school in Wheatley, Oxfordshire.

This is a co-educational, independent specialist day school, providing high quality education for boys and girls. The school aim to meet the needs of a diverse group of pupils with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviours.

Day to day responsibilities will include :

  • Support the teacher by focusing on pupils’ needs, adapting to scenarios, leaving the teacher free to get on with the job of delivering lessons.
  • Set up any equipment or tech requirements needed in the lessons, ready for use.
  • Work one-to-one with pupils to ensure that they’re getting the most out of what’s being taught in the classroom.
  • Help to keep disruption to a minimum and de-escalate any challenges you do face with your impressively calm, rational approach.
  • Work closely with therapists to make sure every pupil gets all the mental health support they need to be able to enjoy a fulfilling school experience.
  • Person Specification :

  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of the practices and procedures within education relating to the welfare, safety and education of children.
  • Able to work as part of a team and be flexible.
  • Occasional attendance at meetings outside of normal school hours.
  • Emotionally resilient.
  • Good level of physical fitness.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
