We are recruiting an enthusiastic newly qualified lawyer to join our Construction and Engineering team in Glasgow. About the roleWe are a highly regarded, quality department who work well together and are looking for someone to become part of our team.
We advise clients on all types of construction and engineering projects including commercial, retail, energy and infrastructure for projects in Scotland, the UK and internationally.
windfarms; power stations; schools and university buildings; museums; accommodation and hotel and leisure schemes.Our clients are developers, institutional investors, public sector and education bodies, contractors, and lenders .
We aim to have a close working relationship with our clients and there would be early client contact for the NQ lawyer.The role will involve : -
providing non-contentious construction advice for clients;- drafting and negotiating construction contracts, professional team appointments, guarantees and collateral warranties -
and- writing articles with opportunities to present at internal and external seminars. - attending business development events and start building their own network-
Training will be provided and the NQ will be working in a supportive environment with regular partner contact. - CMS has a global footprint and all associates are given the opportunity to build a firm network through attending learning and development courses in other CMS jurisdictions with colleagues in other offices.
About youThe ideal candidate will : - be admitted (or be about to be admitted) as a lawyer to the Law Society of Scotland or the Law Society of England & Wales -
