Open to Internal & External Candidates who are looking to join a new and fascinating department

The Doncaster business unit has proudly secured a considerable investment into the plant, creating in the region of 40+ jobs.

By Summer 2021 a new department will be introduced and open to support supplier demand in printing and decorating glass containers for the drinks sector.

The Print and Sleeving Department’ will strengthen our position within the market and enhance what we are can offer our Customers.

As this exciting project continues to develop, we are now looking to recruit and appoint 10 people into the positions of Print Operator working on 5 Crew (2 per shift).

The successful candidates will assist in the operation of the screen printing machines to ensure the container is decorated to a high standard, allowing production to be optimised so the department operates efficiently and achieves customer expectations.

Key responsibilities of the role will include :

  • Health and Safety responsibility towards them self and their work colleagues
  • Safely & efficiently operating Kammann HS300 print machines, working to agreed quality specification & maintaining high efficiency of the machines.
  • Making sure all lines are supplied with materials (naked glass & printing ink etc) so each line runs to full capacity
  • Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping in work area at all times
  • Responsible for checking all cold end equipment within the department, identifying faults and report to the relevant personnel to maintain efficiency and reduce downtime
  • The ideal candidate will have :

  • First class communication skills with all work colleagues to help maintain an effective well-informed team

  • The capability to take ownership, problem solve / fault find within the standard operating procedures
  • A flexible approach and commitment to be trained to operate palletisers and over PWA duties on a as and when cover basis
  • Understanding and able to comply with legislation and company procedures and show devotion towards continuous improvement
  • What we offer :

  • The salary is based on the Ardagh Glass grading structure, this role is a Grade 4 (1800) and includes a shift allowance.
  • The current minimum increment being £30,485, working towards the maximum of the grade currently £34,998

  • Normal shift pattern is determined by the 5-crew shift rota, however, typically consists of a two 12-hour day shifts followed by two 12-hour night shifts and then a six-day rest period.
  • Holidays are also determined by the crew rota pattern; however, people can expect to receive two 11-day breaks, one in the Spring, the other during Autumn season and one 18-day break, in the Summer months.
  • The shift patterns alters slightly during the holiday periods.
