The Product Test Technician, completes work according to instructions, specifications and procedures. Conducts a variety of tests and verifications on electro and electromechanical equipment, while providing accuracy, productivity and on-time delivery.
Job Core Responsibilities
Conducts all testing duties and sets tasks in a timely and positive manner to support Laboratory in achieving defined targets and goals.
To prepare test specimens as required for QC testing in accordance with laboratory procedures. Use of moving equipment and hot, heavy lifting of mould tools etc. may be required.
Conducts testing of material test specimens in accordance with laboratory procedures and test methods.
Conducts non-destructive and destructive QC testing of products.
Produce material based samples for evaluation (internal & external) as required.
Use and maintain all laboratory equipment in a clean and safe manner, working in accordance within defined company procedures and policies - Quality & EHS.
Ensure all company issued PPE items are maintained in an acceptable working condition and are used when required at all times.
Maintain / monitor and report levels of key laboratory test fluids and solvents.
Monitor and record laboratory waste solvents and test fluids.
Report and document test results in line with laboratory practice.
Report anomalies / test failures immediately to Senior laboratory staff.
Store test speciments (awaiting test and tested) in line with laboratory procedures.
Conduct and record daily checks of laboratory test oven conditions
Conduct and record daily test area conditions (max / min temperature and humidity).
Compile and maintain up to date information on 'laboratory rubber batch testing spreadsheet.
Verify laboratory final post cure oven charts using computer monitoring system.
Support 5S methodologies.
Carry out TPM checklist activities where required.
Provide assistance / training within sphere of knowledge and expertise to colleagues.
To provide cover for absent team members as required.
Actively participate in team briefings / meetings and other CI activities
Provide cover and support to senior team members for the generation of material batch test reports to all manufacturing modules as required (QC stamp required) and QC verification / release of Goods Inwards and Production laboratory test material batches.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment, an acceptable safety record and follows company safety rules
Assist / perform other reasonable deties as requested by Senior laboratory team members.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Education : A combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications : Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience : 2 years or more of relevant experience
Skilled in the use of test equipment, hand tools, power tools and electric soldering
Good reading and comprehension skills to understand regulations and instructions
Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures
Good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
Proficient Microsoft Windows software applications
