We are currently recruiting a Grant Development Officer to join the Research Grants team at our Harpenden (Hertfordshire) or North Wyke site (Devon - preferred location) to help secure increased support for our research portfolio.

You will provide advice to relevant scientific groups across our research sites, engage in horizon scanning activities to proactively identify funding opportunities for them and assist with the completion and submission of research funding bids to a variety of funders.

The appointee will liaise closely with scientific teams applying for research funding across a wide range of disciplines relating to the agricultural and biological sciences.

A proactive, enthusiastic approach, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are essential. It would be beneficial if the post-holder has the experience and ability to provide expert costing, editorial and advice to enable staff to secure increased research funding.

You will report to the Head of Research Grants and will work closely with colleagues and the wider Rothamsted support services to ensure submission of the highest quality bids and provision of non-financial post award services.

However, we recognise that some candidates may not have all the required experience and stress that in-house training will be provided.

Due to urgency in filling this post, suitably qualified candidates who have a right to work in UK and can maintain this right to work into new employment will be considered as a priority within shortlisting.

This is initially a 3 year fixed term post, salary ranging from £29,842-£32,315 per annum, dependent on experience.
