For the next 7 years as part of McLaren’s Track 25 plan, we are looking to invest £1.2 billion into Research and Development, leading to the launch of 18 all-
new cars or derivatives during this period.
Purpose of the role :
To design and implement engineering and project management systems, processes, and procedures that are robust, effective, well-
communicated and trained to help the business achieve its long-term business plan and vision to be The iconic sports car Company’
Act as a centre of excellence for continuous improvement from a system, data, process, and procedures perspective
To be a role model and demonstrate living the MAL values
Principal accountabilities :
Ownership and continual development of the roadmap for engineering and project management systems
Work with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and problem areas
Specify and develop the right solutions to meet these needs, always working closely with the customer and development teams
Test these robustly in accordance with McLaren procedures
Ensure that handover is performed with training and support as required
Line management of a team of CI analysts (currently 4 people), including appraisals, personal development and recruitment / growth as required
Effectively manage a backlog of tasks and ensure that these are prioritised with the right stakeholder communications
Regular stakeholder and executive reports
Manage third party suppliers per project requirements
Create strong working relationships with stakeholders across; IT, project management, and engineering
Keep abreast of the latest technological developments that might enhance business performance and promote these technologies within the relevant business areas
Create business cases, manage budgets, and commercial arrangements as required.
Develop links with the other CI teams to maximise the benefits across this community
Knowledge, skills & experience :
Strong team leadership and change leadership skills
A clear understanding of the commercial drivers of the business and how systems, data management, process and procedures can play a key role in the success
Experience of partnering senior managers to produce long term strategies around systems, data management, processes, and procedures.
A good knowledge of systems, data management, processes and procedures approach with evidence of successful application and ROI
Exceptional technical skills in understanding systems (e.g. SAP)
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
Excellent administrator with strong attention to detail.
Experience in providing consultancy to internal or external stakeholders
Has acted as a centre of excellence that is successfully interwoven into the wider team
Is able to matrix manage different people across the business
Has experience of working successfully in a standalone’ role, self-motivated
