What is the opportunity? We provide a variety of services to James Cook University Hospital including portering, cleaning, catering and maintenance services.
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Project Manager. The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of Mechanical Engineering project work.
This will include the planning and delivery of elements of the annual life cycle replacement programme, minor new works service, capital works up to agreed value, provide interface with the Trust’s Estates and Facilities team and will support the Life Cycle Manager in the effective running of the Life Cycle Service.

Participate in six monthly environmental and estates condition audits to identify asset conditions and future maintenance requirements.
To assist in the formulation of a 2-year forward lifecycle replacement plan detailing the prioritisation of works and estimated costs on a rolling programme.
Commissioning and management of project consultants, architects and consulting engineers to form seamless professional multi disciplinary teams.
Assist in the collation of contract variation planning reports and the financial modelling of whole life cycle cost management techniques.
Minimise disruption to the clinical continuity and mitigate / control project specific risks from unavailability and service performance deductions.
Comply with the procedures as detailed in the companies Quality Assurance Manuals and Health and Safety Policies, including that of the CDM Regulations.
Liaison with Endeavour and the Trust Planning Team. Ensure correct implementation and compliance with all statutory requirements and regulations covering all aspects of building services project work.
Carry out Authorised / Responsible person duties as temporary works co-ordinator and working at height. Technical and managerial support in the delivery of the Trusts capital works programme pre and post design evaluation, on site supervision of elements of the capital schemes.
Management of M&E specialist sub-contractors to ensure compliance, competency, quality of work and value for money. Deputies for Life Cycle Manager as required.
What skills and experience do you need? Experience in a supervisory capacity in mechanical engineering or project management Experience and knowledge of building services and M&E design requirements Good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation ideally within a healthcare environment On occasion we receive significantly more applicants than expected for some vacancies and under such circumstances we reserve the right to bring forward the closing date of the advertisement.
