Description

The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) supports our customer’s engineering teams with the evaluation, de-bugging, design-in and support of onsemi products in automotive applications.

In this role, the candidate will work with a team of onsemi sales and applications engineers to primarily support OEM vehicle manufacturers.

The role could also involve support of tier-1 automotive customers across Europe. The position would suit a candidate with a strong knowledge of power electronics and applications experience of vehicle traction inverter, DC / DC and On-Board Charger (OBC).

The candidate can be based either in our Bracknell office or home office based in the UK. The role involves frequent travel to customer locations.

Responsibilities :

Present onsemi solutions to customers.

Recommend the best topologies and products.

Assist with the evaluation and design of onsemi products.

Help trouble-shoot technical issues in customer applications.

Develop strong engineering relationships.

Develop system / application understanding.

Assist in the definition of new products.

Qualifications

You have a BSc / Eng or MSc / Eng in an electronics engineering discipline with experience of power switches (Si and SiC), power modules, gate drivers, motor drivers, in-vehicle communication and switch mode power supplies (SMPS).

You have the right to work in the UK and hold a UK driver’s license.

Able to prioritize a dynamic list of multiple tasks.

Asks questions appropriately and gathers key information.

Strong attention to detail.

Strong presentation, writing and verbal communication skills.

Open to develop technical knowledge and soft-skills.

Enthusiastic and flexible to travel.

Excellent English language skills.
