SUB-CONTRACTOR MANAGER LOCATION Swindon REPORTING LINE Head of Sourcing SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of Subcontractors market and regional and cluster nuances
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills able to construct / execute multiple complex analyses (e.g., TCO, NPV; cost-price analyses) simultaneously
  • Good planning / project management skills able to develop comprehensive workable issue sets in complex situations
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Quick study able to gain a fact-based understanding of current supplier base, supplier economics and major trends in relevant markets

  • PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • National / regional experience in end-to-end sourcing of Subcontractors for install projects, preferably in the Security space
  • Successful, multi-year (10+ years preferred) track record of purchasing, contracting, negotiating and developing strategic relationships in installation / construction with demonstrated ability to secure significant savings and compress project schedules
  • Relevant degree preferred; other degree potentially acceptable
  • PURPOSE OF POSITION The Sub-Contractor Manager will deliver savings and enhance the quality of Sub-Contractors through leadership of strategic sourcing activities.

    The Sub-Contractor Manager will standardise and enhance the process for procuring Sub-Contractors for all installation projects in a defined area.

    This role will enhance value-generating competition between quality vendors. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Delivering Sub-Contractor cost reductions by leading strategic Sub-Contractor sourcing for each market within assigned region or regional cluster
  • Enhancing Sub-Contractor quality and performance results, through instituting criteria for Sub-Contractor evaluation and managing prequalification process
  • Driving competition through enhanced and standardized bidding and negotiation process, supported by field operations and install teams;
  • providing final recommendation for Sub-Contractor

  • Creating opportunities for collaboration and value-engineering through strategic management of relationships with partner Sub-Contractors
  • Developing and implementing sourcing strategies for Sub-Contractors for install projects including assessment of STANLEY Security capital needs, market trends, and understanding supplier economics
  • Leading the process to select and manage Sub-Contractors for project install for assigned region or regional cluster (RFP creation, bidding documentation, contract reviews, analysis of bids, and price and schedule negotiation)
  • Setting criteria for Sub-Contractor evaluation, developing and maintaining scorecards to track Sub-Contractor performance and quality and adjust sourcing strategies based on performance and business unit input
  • Monitoring contract compliance, customer satisfaction and solving operational issues with Sub-Contractors (e.g., quality, delivery and service issues)
  • Establishing and maintaining contractual and business relationships with critical Sub-Contractors, including conducting approval and review processes and expanding pool of quality bidders
  • Developing, championing, and ensuring implementation of ideas that will optimize Stanley Security’s total cost of project delivery year-
  • over-year for Sub-Contractors

  • Establishing key performance metrics for each spend category (e.g., cost per unit, total product expense) including defining the data collection process, forecasting budgetary impact, tracking savings, ensuring savings are captured in budgets, and communicating performance to senior leaders
  • Remaining current with market trends through relationships with vendors and market experts
  • Identifying / defining sourcing best-practices both within and external to STANLEY Security and working with key stakeholders to ensure that those best practices are widely adopted by STANLEY Security’ groups, segments and subsidiaries
  • Aiding STANLEY Security’ acquisition strategies by completing the due diligence (including assessment of synergies) and integration activities for the spend categories
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations (European, country, and local as applicable to assigned region or regional cluster) as well as any internal policies (e.
  • g. ethics) or procedures to ensure that the behaviour exhibited by the organization is honest, ethical and professional
