Description : Child Services - Community ,West Dunbartonshire HSCP
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a Health Visiting Team, supporting families with new born infants and children up to five years of age within West Dunbartonshire Children and Families Directorate.
You will be based within the Health Visiting Team providing a Universal Health Visiting service to all families within West Dunbartonshire HSCP.
The Health Visiting Service operates an open access service to families with children, within their own homes, community settings and health centres.
You will hold as a minimum an NNEB or equivalent SVQ 3, HNC in childcare or an HNC in Health Care with relevant recent childhood community experience.
Skills required include, knowledge of child development from birth. The promotion of health enhancing lifestyles, positive parenting, and the ability to address a range of needs identified by the Health Visitors.
Primarily with children 0-5 years, but may also include school age children and families where the children have been exposed to Adverse Childhood Experiences.
This individual work with families will normally be undertaken in the family home. West Dunbartonshire HSCP also have an ongoing program of Positive Parenting.
This role would involve delivery of parenting programmes to groups in community settings such as schools and nurseries. This would be in partnership with other members of the multidisciplinary team, such as social workers and outreach workers.
You would have full access to, Parenting Training Programmes, as well as ongoing Continued Professional Development in order to support this role.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm.
