We are seeking an Associate Risk Manager to support the some exciting clients on on-going projects within multiple sectors.

It is intended that the role will offer the opportunity to progress your career as your experience grows.

Our team is involved in some of the UK’s most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding.

We have an enviable reputation in the delivery of such schemes and are working closely with our blue-chip clients in our Global Business Areas - Mobility, Resilience and Places, to deliver their most important projects, undertaking a vast array of projects

Role accountabilities :

The main purpose of the role is to :

  • Lead and develop risk strategies to aid the delivery of a project, programme or portfolio, working with senior stakeholders and project teams.
  • Deliver service excellence in risk management to identify, evaluate, mitigate and report on risk and support development of high performing risk teams.
  • Subject matter expertise in quantitative risk analysis for cost and schedule including advanced modelling techniques.
  • Ensure all work and outputs are executed to meet project needs and objectives in accordance with the quality assurance requirements
  • Integrate the risk management processes into a wider project controls environment as the subject matter expert.
  • Lead in the Risk Community of Practice, developing capabilities and skills within the Risk Team and wider Arcadis community through training and mentoring.
  • Contribute to delivery of client account plans liaising with account and sector leadership do develop opportunities
  • Qualifications & Experience :

  • Degree educated with 10+ years risk management experience including evidence of embedding & delivering risk management on major programmes and portfolios.
  • Risk Management qualification, such as IRM Certificate, IRM Diploma, or APM Risk Certificate Level 1
  • Prior experience in the integration of cost and schedule risk modelling to produce confidence levels for costs and completion dates in support of investment decisions and in relation to the management of major programmes.
  • Proven experience in setting up and managing teams in the application of innovative risk management techniques at programme level and / or in a Programme Management Office (PMO) environment, implementing risk management in an integrated manner with other programme controls disciplines.
  • Robust understanding of construction contracts and the relationship between risk management and commercial management
  • Evidence of ability to integrate value management process with risk management process, showing an appreciation of Benefits and Requirement Management and the implications for the Value Engineering and Risk Management processes.
  • Demonstrable experience in the leadership, management and development of teams and able to articulate approach for motivation of teams in support of the risk management process.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and facilitation skills.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently
  • Experience of team management (line management, team leadership, financial management)
  • Desirable :

  • Membership of a professional body (e.g. APM, IRM)
  • Project or Programme Management Qualification (APM, PRINCE2 etc)
  • Qualifications in Axelos MSP, MOP or MoR
  • Experience of facilitation of Value Management workshops
  • Experience in application of a variety of contract forms.
  • Understanding of the HMT Green Book and principles of Optimism Bias & Reference class data.
  • Experience in working for a large consultancy business and evidence of work winning, marketing skills or ambassadorial skills.
