The University of Reading is seeking to appoint an additional Senior Immigration Adviser as part of our International Student Advisory Team.

You will be expected to play a key role in developing the immigration advice services offered by this team as well as undertaking casework with individual students.

You will be advising relevant internal members of staff (for example those responsible for recruitment and admissions) in relation to pre-arrival and more general immigration advice and guidance.

The University is a Student Sponsor licence holder and as such the The University of Reading is seeking to appoint an additional Senior Immigration Adviser as part of our International Student Advisory Team.

You will be expected to play a key role in developing the immigration advice services offered by this team as well as undertaking casework with individual students.

You will be advising relevant internal members of staff (for example those responsible for recruitment and admissions) in relation to pre-arrival and more general immigration advice and guidance.

The University is a Student Sponsor licence holder and as such the Senior Immigration Adviser will be responsible for ensuring all advice provided is in line with the UK Immigration Rules, Student Sponsor requirements and University Policies.

You will have :

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of immigration legislation and requirements
  • Excellent understanding of Student policy guidance and Student Sponsor Guidance Substantial experience of undertaking casework to provide advice and guidance on immigration and nationality matters
  • Previous experience of running and delivering training and information seminars / sessions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals
  • Ability to work under pressure

    Please note that due to the nature of responsibilities in the role only those who are nationals of the United Kingdom, an EEA state or Switzerland, or who have current Indefinite Leave to Enter or Remain can be considered.
