Min 30, flexible upto 37.5 hours / wk

Responsibilities :

  • To build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure HR is able to support the overall business objectives
  • Optimising on employee engagement at all times
  • Coach and mentor line managers in all employee management related activities
  • Coaching and development of individuals to ensure they reach their maximum potential
  • Proactive management of informal grievance situations, providing mediation where necessary
  • Support a culture of performance management which drives business efficiency and overall commercial performance
  • To assist in managing the HR and Health & Safety process to ensure an efficient and effective service is provided at all times to meet the needs of employees and external organisations
  • To provide advice, training and development to employees in respect of company policies and employment legislation
  • To assist with implementing and developing HR policies and procedures in line with current legislation and company objectives
  • Accuracy at all times with correspondence and HR system and reporting devices
  • To conduct and provide support and advice on the appropriate processes including capability, disciplinary, grievance, TUPE, redundancy and dismissal
  • To ensure all agreed procedures, practices and statutory requirements are followed and adhered to
  • To undertake general HR and administrative duties
  • To respond to and resolve queries from internal and external organisations
  • To ensure that all information required is received on a timely basis
  • A proactive approach to all elements in HR and the confidence to challenge
  • Flexibility to work remote and travel to any Hays Travel location as required
  • Qualifications

  • Good basic standard of education, 4 GCSE’s or equivalent Grade C or above including English and Maths
  • Full or part CIPD qualified, or qualified by experience
  • Willing to work towards qualifications to assist with their own personal development
  • Knowledge required

  • Knowledge of all areas of current employment law and keen to maintain and update knowledge
  • Microsoft Office Applications, including Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Skills & Experience

  • Previous Human Resources experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills & ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise workload of self and others
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to carry out training and instruction on all levels
  • Clean driving licence
  • Confidentiality
  • Ability to work solely and as a member of a team
  • General
