Teaching Personnel has been approached by a specialist provision in Burnley which caters for pupils aged 11-16 with complex social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Many pupils who attend this school have not had a previously good experience at school and have been persistently absent from education.
As a result, the pupils have large gaps in their learning and have low confidence levels in their academic ability.
The school offers a therapeutic environment which allows the pupils to thrive. A varied curriculum is offered including vocational subjects as well as core subjects.
The school also focuses on enrichment and connecting the pupils to their environment, as a result pupils should feel more engaged with their education and want to do well.
