Creative, ambitious and high performing, our Pastry Team cater for the daily needs of our outlets across the estate. Headed up by our talented Executive Pastry Chef, Phil Skinazi, the team continue to evolve their product to serve the varying demands of the business from fine dining, afternoon tea, brasserie, room amenity to café fayre and bespoke products.

Here's a bit more detail on what we see you doing in this role :

  • Using your Pastry expertise and skill, you’ll be crucial in ensuring our Pastry kitchen continues to excel in producing the most creative, innovative and inspirational items
  • Bringing delicious, creative and bespoke flavours and creations to our guests’ tables, running a section in our busy Pastry kitchen
  • Making sure our operation runs without hitch, orders and deliveries are coming and going as needed, our service is smooth and our food hygiene standards are sky-high
  • Supporting our Head Chef and Sous Chef on ideas and techniques that make our Pastry kitchen a creative, ever-changing environment where we’re always looking to come up with new, delicious combinations of taste and creative design
  • Nurturing and developing the talent of the Pastry kitchen and wider team, creating an environment that brings out the best in them and where they can be themselves
  • The kind of person we're looking for :

  • Previous experience working as part of a fast-moving, quality driven, culinary team, as either a Pastry Chef de Partie, Demi Chef de Partie or 1st Commis Chef
  • Passion for Pastry is a given; you’ve worked hard to perfect your craft and you have a huge appetite to continue learning from the best in the business
  • You're highly motivated and possess an immense sense of pride in your work; you're passionate about delivering the high standards for our guests in line with the Gleneagles brand
  • You have a positive can do attitude to solving problems in a professional and courteous manner
  • You're a strong team player with great communication skills and an enthusiastic approach; you're well organised and punctual with an eagle eye for detail
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and above all has fun along the way
  • What’s in it for you :

  • The on target earning potential for this role is £30,429 / annual salary, compromising of a base salary of £28,129, plus a qualified estimate of £2,300 gratuities per annum
  • Our culinary colleagues are contracted to 46 hours per week
  • Overtime is paid at your hourly rate should you be required to work more than your contracted hours
