KS1 Teaching Assistant

A primary school in Preston are looking to recruit a qualified teaching assistant to work on a full-time basis in their Year 1 class.

The role is to start from September 2020* and is ongoing, with the potential of a school contract.

Working hours are 09 : 00 15 : 30, Mon-Fri (30hrs per week).

GBP10.00 - GBP10.50 per hr, dependent upon qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate for the role will be able to work effectively alongside the Class Teacher, as well independently with use of their own initiative.

They will have high expectations and a positive approach to managing behaviour, which promotes and motivates good choices.

They will also be willing to contribute to the wider life of school and will demonstrate a commitment to making a positive impact on the school and the children who attend.

The school is graded GOOD’ by Ofsted in their most recent inspection. The proportion of pupils eligible for pupil premium is above the national average, as is the proportion of pupils with special educational needs.

Children in the Early Years get off to a good start and make good progress. Pupils enjoy a broad curriculum, and they are very proud of their school and the work they do.

Behaviour is good and pupils are enthusiastic about their learning.

Essential Requirements :

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above
  • Experience of supporting in the primary school (min. 25 days within the last 12 months)
